O'Hare Modernization Program

Embracing City of Chicago’s environmental vision, the O’Hare Modernization Program (OMP) developed and implemented environmental and sustainable initiatives that were at the forefront of the aviation industry. OMP’s commitment to sustainability ensures that O'Hare’s continued place as the benchmark for environmental stewardship in design and construction. These initiatives included an industry leading program focused on Sustainable Design. This program is unique in that it applies to all design projects – from the more traditional application of sustainability to occupied buildings, to the many civil projects such as roads, bridges, runways and taxiways, utilities, drainage, and cargo facilities. The OMP sustainability program sets goals, evaluates, rates, and encourages achievements in sustainable design.
