Airports Going Green Conference

Sustainable Education Fund

The Airports Going Green Sustainability Education Fund (SEF) is a collaborative effort among the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA), the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE), One Million Degrees (OMD), and a continuously growing network of generous sponsors, all with a common goal to promote education and sustainability.

The SEF provides opportunities to advance student education through academic scholarships at City Colleges of Chicago. Scholarships are awarded to eligible students pursuing studies in sustainability and related fields including; green construction, energy-efficient infrastructure management, green technology development, and sustainable agriculture. Such opportunities serve to further Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel's mission to enrich the lives and education of Chicago youth, as well as to develop the next generation of sustainability leaders, in turn creating lasting impacts for sustainable airport design, construction and operations, and the local and global economies. OMD provides scholarship recipients with personalized and continual support throughout their education and transition to the workforce.

Academic scholarships are made possible through generous donations from corporate sponsors that value student development and the growth of sustainability in the aviation industry.
